Monday evening, October 2, local anti-fascists cleared out Organization of the South members who came to Charlottesville with white supremacist Jason Kessler. They were spotted hunting both Emancipation and Justice parks with Kessler early Monday, and seen with each other around the downtown shopping mall throughout the day. When word spread of these discoveries, area participants gathered to protect and safeguard Charlottesville from the visibility of these white supremacists. The League of the South had actually signed up to talk at Common council, however never appeared.
