The World Football period evaluation always gives us the opportunity to cram in as several intriguing and exciting tales as we can, and this year was no different. As well as covering every one of Europe’s greatest leagues (and its smaller ones as well), plus a couple of from more afield, we sent out Tom Kundert to two of the greatest Lisbon derbies of perpetuity, and Alec McQuarrie to a historic Greek Cup final.
But this issue would not be complete without a couple of words for the renowned Brian Glanville, who died at the age of 93 in May. Keir Radnedge and Henry Winter, to whom he was an inspiration, coworker and buddy, have both commemorated him.
